Portus Romanus

On the banks of the Guadalquivir River, as it flows through the town, there are remains of an ancient dock that could date back to Roman times.

Traditionally, this location has served as an embarkation point for crossing the river before the construction of the bridge over the CO-3313 road. Nearby farmhouses such as Villaseca and El Temple, among others, have yielded remnants of Roman villas, ovens, and pottery workshops used to produce oil amphorae intended for export via riverboats along the Guadalquivir.

The surrounding area offers a privileged setting to observe the rich flora and fauna of the riverbank, as well as magnificent views of the river and the nearby castle.
