Parish Church of San Francisco

Today, the church occupies a prominent place as the second most important temple in the city, surpassed only by the majestic Cathedral of the Campiña.

Among its most outstanding features, the charming entrance courtyard stands out, surrounded by chains that evoke its history.
Inside, a neo-baroque side chapel dedicated to the Immaculate Conception of the Vote, patron saint of the city, attracts the devotion of the faithful. In addition, the imposing presence of a Christ of the Good Death, the work of the Sevillian Antonio Castillo Lastrucci, a replica of the famous original by Juan de Mesa in Seville, enriches its artistic heritage.

The two stone doorways and the imposing baroque brick tower, which rises majestically to 33 meters high, are elements that captivate visitors.
The tower, built in the 18th century, consists of five bodies, each with its own history and beauty. The last bodies of the tower show a surprising similarity with those that crown the tower of the Cathedral-Mosque of Córdoba, evidencing the influence and splendor of Baroque art in the region.
