The ancient monastery Santa Paula of Jerónimas nuns was built on a group of houses, some of which were incorporated into the convent; inside, some of these Arab houses can still be observed.
The church follows the model of a box church covered with a wooden framework. Inside, the tombs of its founders were located. To allow for the great transformation that took place on Gran Vía de Colón street, the convent lost its orchard but gained a historicist-style façade.
