Church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario in Fuengirola

History and Architecture

The church was built in the 20th century on the site of an older temple and has since become the main place of worship in the town. Its architecture combines traditional Andalusian elements with neoclassical influences, featuring a simple yet elegant white façade with ochre details, characteristic of many churches in southern Spain.

The bell tower rises above the square and can be seen from various points in the town center. Inside, the church houses beautiful religious images, including the statue of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, which is deeply venerated by the people of Fuengirola.
Center of Religious and Cultural Celebrations

The Church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario hosts many religious celebrations throughout the year, with particular importance given to Holy Week and the festival in honor of the Virgin of the Rosary, celebrated every year on October 7. During this festivity, the statue of the patron saint is carried in a procession through the streets of Fuengirola, accompanied by music, flowers, and devoted followers.

In addition to its religious significance, the church plays a key role during the Feria de Fuengirola, one of the most important festivals in the city. During this time, special masses and events take place in honor of the patron saint, blending tradition and devotion in a festive atmosphere.
A Place of Peace in the City Center

Located in one of Fuengirola’s liveliest squares, the church provides a space for peace and reflection in the midst of urban activity. Whether for worship or simply for a visit, this temple offers a chance to admire its beauty and learn more about the town’s history and traditions.

With its welcoming atmosphere and privileged location, the Church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario remains one of the most emblematic places in Fuengirola, combining history, faith, and culture in one setting
