Entering inside is to immerse oneself in a space of serenity and devotion. A single central nave houses a simple wooden altarpiece, flanked by the venerated images of the Holy Week of Mencía. Each figure is a living testimony of the tradition and faith rooted in this land.
Today, the hermitage is much more than a place of worship. It is the epicentre of brotherhood and fraternity life in Doña Mencía, where the different brotherhoods and fraternities gather to begin their processions and celebrations. During the rest of the year, it is transformed into a museum that captures all the splendor of the "big week", keeping alive the memory and tradition of this devout community.
