Hermitage of Santa Ana in Canillas de Albaida

The hermitage features a single rectangular nave, crowned by a wooden roof with tie beams, adding a rustic and traditional touch to the structure.

Inside, a magnificent polychrome wooden altarpiece from the late 18th century stands out, crafted in an exquisite Rococo style. This altarpiece, with its colorful details and fine craftsmanship, is a true gem that captures the attention of all who visit the hermitage.

The facade of the hermitage has been modified over the years. A restoration carried out in the late 20th century added a brick bell tower that contrasts with the original bright and whitewashed appearance of the building. This restoration also urbanized the area in front of the hermitage, known as "la era de San Antón," transforming its original agricultural use into a more urban and accessible space, although no traces of its agricultural past remain.

The Ermita de San Antón is not only a place of worship but also a symbol of the adaptation and preservation of Canillas de Albaida’s cultural heritage, blending historical elements with contemporary touches to remain a spiritual and cultural landmark in the community.
