Hermitage of Our Lady of Grace.

Built in the outskirts of the village, to the north of it, the hermitage is one of the oldest monuments in Fuente Obejuna, although the exact date of its construction is difficult to pinpoint. Some evidence suggests that it could date back to the beginning of the 16th century or even earlier.

According to local tradition, the hermitage acquired its name due to an apparition of the Virgin of Grace to a soldier in the nearby Holy Fountain, whose waters were believed to possess miraculous or healing properties. This event made both the fountain and the hermitage become pilgrimage destinations. In addition, devotion to the Virgin of Grace always had a strong military component, probably due to the connection with local soldiers who served in the Tercios of Flanders.

Throughout its history, the hermitage has witnessed numerous acts of veneration and offerings, from the hanging of shrouds and human limbs to the donation of medals by soldiers during the Cuban and Moroccan wars.

In terms of its structure, the hermitage follows the typical design of the mountain churches of the province of Córdoba, with a single nave divided into five sections and a square apse. The slightly pointed brick arches are a distinctive feature, as is the gabled roof. Inside, the image of the Virgin of Grace stands out, a polychrome wooden carving whose exact chronology is difficult to determine, and a crucifix also carved and polychrome, dating from around 1600.

Outside, the hermitage has a main door with a brick arch and a portico with typical elements of rural pilgrimage churches, such as a bench for resting. The bell gable, located on the front wall, extends upwards and houses a bell at its top
