Since 1998, cultural managers Rosana de Aza and Olinto de la Obra, pioneers in promoting and disseminating the artistic and cultural heritage of Al-Andalus, have worked to foster the history of traditional flamenco and enhance the folkloric tradition of Andalusia, a World Heritage site.
Rehabilitated and transformed into a Cultural Center, this Casa-Palacio retains the magical essence of Sevillian tradition, featuring a vibrant central courtyard and impressive brick and stone walls.
Inside, it has several rooms designated as an art gallery and exhibition space, where visitors can enjoy temporary exhibitions and the private collection of artworks, objects, and historical documents from the Casa. This is complemented by numerous activities that Casa de la Memoria has organized since its inception, including book and album presentations, lectures, flamenco fashion shows, master classes on the history of flamenco, poetry recitals, guitar concerts, world music performances, theatrical visits, and much more, making the Flamenco Cultural Center in Seville a unique and must-visit place for both foreign and local visitors.
This Cultural Center, Museum, and Tablao Flamenco, located in a Casa-Palacio from the 15th century that housed the former stables of the adjacent palace of the Countess of Lebrija, offers an intimate space reminiscent of the old cantinas, allowing the audience to enjoy closeness with the artists and appreciate the authentic sound of the best flamenco in Seville, and probably, in the world.
