Courtyard of the Comedies

Origin and History

The Patio de las Comedias dates back to medieval times and has served various functions throughout history. For centuries, it was a meeting place for the community, hosting cultural events, markets, and festive activities. Its name comes from the theatrical performances that took place there, especially during the 16th and 17th centuries, when popular theater flourished in Spain.

Over the years, the patio has evolved and adapted to the changing needs of the town while preserving its essence as a hub for cultural expression. Today, it is a tourist attraction where exhibitions, concerts, and outdoor events take place.
