House of King Soler

Despite some transformations suffered during the 20th century, the Casa del Rey Soler retains its imprint as a palace of Castilian ancestry, structured around a porticoed courtyard with a main façade flanked by two towers that house an upper gallery in the style of a solana or algorfa. Its first owner was Don Juan Muñoz de Salazar, the senior ensign of Santa Fe and accountant for the Catholic Monarchs, hence the heraldry on its main entrance. This nobleman from Burgos founded a Pilgrims Hospital in 1501, whose first location may have been the adjacent building in this small square. Its popular name as a building
