Villa Romana de Fuente Álamo

Covering an area of approximately 6,000 square meters, the Roman Villa of Fuente Álamo is a complex that includes various structures such as houses, baths, warehouses, and patios. These houses are organized around a central courtyard, reflecting the typical layout of Roman villas of the time. Some of these houses show signs of wealth and status, with architectural details such as columns and mosaics adorning the floors.

One of the most notable aspects of the Roman Villa of Fuente Álamo is the impressive Roman mosaics that have been discovered at the site. These mosaics, which decorated the houses, depict a wide variety of motifs, from mythological scenes to geometric and floral designs. Some of these mosaics are exceptionally well preserved and exhibit a high degree of artistic skill.

Over the years, archaeological excavations at the Fuente Álamo site have uncovered and documented many of its structures and associated objects. These studies have shed light on daily life in the Roman villa, as well as its economic and social significance in the region.
