Teatro Vicente Espinel

Equipped with advanced technology to stage works requiring complex sets and special effects, the theater was inaugurated in February 1994 with the support of the Cultural Department of the Junta de Andalucía and the Ronda City Council. In 2011, renovations were carried out to address humidity and climate control issues.

Owned by the municipality, the Vicente Espinel Theater has a capacity of 520 seats and hosts a variety of activities and performances throughout the year, including the renowned Carnival of Ronda.

Previously, there was another theater in Ronda called Vicente Espinel, designed in a modernist style by architect Santiago Sanguinetti. Inaugurated in 1909 during the economic and cultural boom of the early 20th century, this theater was located in the entrance area of the Blas Infante Gardens, near the bullring. Its presence led to the relocation of the main entrance of the bullring to its current location. However, despite receiving criticism, it was demolished in the 1970s on the grounds that it was in a state of ruin
