Palace of Fernan Nuñez

The palace is part of a picturesque architectural complex around the Plaza de Armas, which also houses the Town Hall and other buildings such as the Dukes Inn, the stables, and the schools.
Chapel of Saint Scholastica

The chapel, dedicated to the sister of the 6th Count, Escolástica Gutiérrez de los Ríos, Duchess of Béjar, was blessed by the canon of the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba. It has a quadrangular floor plan and a dome decorated with murals from the early 20th century. Its niches housed images of Saint Scholastica, Saint Charles Borromeo, and the Resurrection of Christ, currently in the main parish church. The galleries connected the chapel to the Count quarters, allowing him to attend Mass.

An inscription in the chapel reads:

To the honor and glory of God and to the memory and suffrage of Her Excellency Doña Escolástica Carlota Gutiérrez de los Ríos y Rohan, widowed Duchess of Béxar, who died in Madrid at the age of 35 on October 5, 1782, this chapel of Saint Escolástica was erected and endowed with a chaplaincy and daily Mass for her soul and on the anniversary of her death, by her brother Carlos Joseph, twenty-second lord and sixth Count of this town. Year 1783.
Towers

One of the palace two towers was built on the remains of the old fortress of Fernán Núñez, the remains of which are still visible. The tower houses a cannon and eight embedded bombards, captured by Diego Gutiérrez de los Ríos y Guzmán from the English Admiral Robert Blake in 1657 during a naval battle off Cádiz. Gardens

Behind the palace are the gardens, open to the public in summer. These gardens, approximately 1,200 square meters in area, are arranged in three trapezoidal terraces, taking advantage of the uneven terrain, and are of great beauty.
