Traditionally, humble families used stale bread the following days to use it in the preparation of this dish, adding bacon, garlic, oil and peppers, all of them products within reach of their humble hands. It is typical in some places to accompany it with sardines, pomegranate, melon, grapes, etc. You can find it as a typical tapa in their restaurants in winter.
