Museum Revello de Toro

A Tribute to Art and Contemporary Málaga Painting

The Museo Revello de Toro is dedicated to the work of the painter José Revello de Toro, one of the most prominent artists in contemporary Spanish painting. Inaugurated in 2002, the museum is located in a historic 16th-century building that served as both the workshop and residence of the famous Baroque sculptor Pedro de Mena.

The museums collection includes over 100 works by the artist, covering different stages of his career, from his early works to his most recent pieces. Revello de Toro is known for his skill in portraiture and figure painting, using a realism technique that highlights light and texture. Among the most notable pieces are portraits of important personalities, as well as still lifes and landscapes.

The museum also organizes temporary exhibitions, lectures, and workshops that promote knowledge of art and culture. These activities allow visitors to interact with the work of Revello de Toro and explore themes related to his technique and style.
