The Sidewalk of the Star.

Nestled in the heart of Sierra Nevada, La Vereda de la Estrella is much more than just a hiking trail; it’s a journey into the very soul of nature. This iconic path, located in Güéjar Sierra, Granada, unfolds an unparalleled spectacle of mountainous landscapes, crystal-clear waterfalls, and lush vegetation that seems straight out of a fairytale.

The route begins at the Barranco de San Juan, where the gentle murmur of the Genil River accompanies hikers from the very first step. As you progress, the trail winds through centuries-old chestnut trees, oaks, and pines, offering comforting shade on sunny days. The panoramic views are the undeniable stars of the journey: from various vantage points, you can admire the majestic peaks of Mulhacén and Alcazaba, the highest summits in the Iberian Peninsula.

But La Vereda de la Estrella enchants not only with its natural beauty; it is also steeped in history. Once used by miners working in the Estrella and Justicia mines, this trail preserves remnants of a past marked by hard work and perseverance. Along the way, the ancient mining ruins blend seamlessly into the landscape, silently telling the stories of those who spent their days extracting treasures from the mountains depths.
