The Bailío Slope

The Bailío slope was a communication route between the upper city (Medina or Villa) and the lower city (Axerquía) through the Roman Wall. It is made with "Chino Córdobes" decorative drawings. Its name comes from the Bailo´s house attached to it. The Cuesta del Bailío, one of Córdoba’s most charming spots, connects the old town with the city’s higher district. This historic staircase, flanked by whitewashed houses and adorned with blooming flowers, exudes the unmistakable charm of Andalusia.

At the top of the steps stands the magnificent Palacio del Bailío, a Renaissance mansion that enchants visitors with its elegant courtyard and lush gardens. The Cuesta is not only a place steeped in history but also a favorite spot for photographers and wanderers seeking to capture Córdoba s beauty.

A walk along the Cuesta del Bailío feels like a journey back in time, a perfect blend of history, architecture, and Andalusian ambiance
