Cabeza de la Bruja Baba Yaga

This mysterious witch of Nordic origin lived in a house with chicken legs that moved at her will and ended up residing in the Alpujarra region of Granada.

Before crossing the Barranco Caliente and entering the village, on the right-hand side, there is a huge sculpture representing the head of the witch Baba Yaga, a supernatural old woman who lived in Russia and settled in this area of the Alpujarra, seeking better weather.

This witch, with penetrating blue eyes and a toothless smile, fed on misbehaving children and kept watch, riding in a flying pot, to ensure that no blessed person entered her property.

Baba Yaga is a mythological figure from Slavic traditions. She is often described as an old witch who lives deep in the forest and possesses mystical knowledge and magical powers.

In the legends, Baba Yaga can be both a benefactor and a threat, depending on who seeks her and for what purpose.
