History of the Museum

The Baena Archaeological Museum originated from excavations at the El Castillejo Iberian site, one of the most important in the province. It was inaugurated in 1997 to preserve and display the findings from these sites. Since then, the museum has grown and improved, becoming a reference for archaeology and history enthusiasts in the region.

Collection and Exhibits

The museum is divided into several rooms that cover different historical periods. The first room is dedicated to prehistory and the Betic culture, with a notable collection of tools and objects that reflect the daily life of the region
